As some of you may have noticed, I have not been posting tutorials for over a month. I’m probably going to start again after January 28th, which is the last day of my exams. I have 5 exams coming up within the next couple of weeks and over 6 university interviews.

WordPress has quickly become one of the premiere choices as a blogging platform, and CMS. Getting that into your web development arsenal opens up multitudinous horizons for new projects. In this new screencast series, we will 1) develop a WordPress theme, and 2) go over some of the basics of WordPress.

Almost every single client I have had has asked me to implement their idea of SEO into their website. That idea is meta tags. Search Engine Optimization, although a highly desirable trait for a website (for obvious reasons), is extremely misunderstood.

The final part of the Creating a Website series is up! It’s 1 hour and 20 minutes. On the other hand, you get to see exactly how I work with a website, like all the arbitrary decisions to change. This part will teach you how to style the website in CSS, a bit about pseudo selectors, and we will make a 3-state button using CSS Sprites.

The Creating a Website series continues with Part 2! In this episode, we will touch up the Photoshop file to make it look better and give it an higher overall appeal. We will also do the HTML markup, and insert a basic CSS reset.

I finally got around to developing my own layout. The past few days, I have been working on this theme for my blog, having put the tutorials and screencasts on hold.
